Epsilon Upsilon Chapter at Tarleton State University

Chapter Philanthropy & Service

Through community service and awareness efforts, there’s no doubt that Alpha Gams are impacting the world. Guided by the Purpose, our members feel a deep connection to civic involvement and are compelled to play an active role in our diverse society. Alpha Gamma Delta’s chosen philanthropic focus is fighting hunger, and members are encouraged to engage in community service that promotes this worthy cause.

One in eight Americans and one in eight Canadians struggle with hunger. It's a cause that knows no bounds. It affects every race, age and community. Including the communities where we are placed. That is why we want to be a part of the solution. Through partnering with national and local organizations, we are able to make an impact on our communities.

On the local level, our collegiate chapters and alumnae groups diligently carry out their own community-based philanthropy events and activities. Our chapter actively participates in Meals on Wheels and Backpack Buddies of Erath County, an organization that  provides children from food-insecure homes with healthy weekend meals during the school year. Together, just as in years past, we continue to inspire the woman and impact the world in the communities in which we live.

Each year, our chapter presents the “Alpha Gamma Delta Annual Picnic Basket Auction.” Collegiate members prepare individualized themed baskets that are sold to the most generous high bidder.
